Washington Elementary is one of the oldest existing school buildings in the San Leandro Unified School District. Built in 1917, the school retains much of its historic architectural charm. In the last decade Washington Elementary School has received numerous updates to its campus including, updated restrooms, a computer lab, updates to the school library, gardens and garden boxes. Currently Washington Elementary School has 14 classrooms (K-5) and is a Bilingual School. On staff there is a School Psychologist, Speech Therapist, Resource Teacher, Counselor, Primary Language Para-Educator, Resource Para-Educator, Computer Lab Teacher, Title 1/Family Coordinator and ELD/Bilingual Support Teacher for 4/5th Grades. In addition to the 14 classrooms, there is a library, a computer lab, a parent resource room, an auditorium, a cafeteria, an Art/Music room, and an ASES (After School Enrichment and Safety) room. |
