Wildcat Press Newsletter

The “Wildcat Press” is a newsletter which comes from the Principal twice a month. The Wildcat “Press” has information to help Washington families stay informed about upcoming school events (i.e. PTA, Dad’s Club, ELAC, and assemblies), schedule changes (i.e. early dismissal or days off), important meetings, as well as school district and community information. Classroom and other informational flyers are sent home on Wednesdays at least once a month.

PTA Newsletter

The Washington Elementary PTA publishes a quarterly newsletter. The newsletter usually features an article about a recent or upcoming event. It also includes information about future school and community events. If you are interested in contributing to the newsletter, please contact the PTA President, Mary Gregory or the PTA Corresponding Secretary, Jessica Henselmann. Correspondence for the PTA can be placed in the PTA box in the office.

School Directory

NEW! Washington Elementary published its first ever school directory during the 2009-2010 school year. The directory includes a teacher roster, floor plan and a class list for each grade level. The class list includes the name of each student, parent/guardian name, phone number and/or email address. Being included in the school directory is voluntary. A form to be included in the school directory for the 2010-2011 school year will be sent home in one of the weekly packets.

Teleparent

In addition to the newsletters, emails and flyers there is a district wide messaging system called Teleparent. Teleparent messages are sometimes delivered district wide, but mostly they are used by the Principal, the PTA and other organizations at the school site level to deliver important school information as well as information about upcoming events. The number you give the school is the number on which you will receive these messages. If you use a cell phone, you may not receive the entire message and you will need to wait a short moment until the automated message begins once you answer the phone.

The Wildcats marquee, located on the front exterior of the school is updated on a monthly basis with important dates and information.

Bulletin Boards

There are several bulletin boards located in the main hallway. The bulletin boards contain information about the school board, ELAC, SSC, PTA, Dad’s Club and a monthly school calendar. There is also a carousel with flyers about community events as well as school district events and information.
